Facilities at the hotel

While the main wing of the Hotel Palácio dos Melos occupies a centuries-old gateway in Viseu’s city walls, the hotel offers its guests all the comfort and facilities of a modern 5 star hotel. Free parking (subject to availability) makes coming by car so much easier and the wireless internet access in both the rooms and public spaces (at an extra cost) can make staying in touch so much easier.  

The bar’s esplanade, with its lovely views, allows you a unique perspective from which to savour the special atmosphere of this ancient city and at sunset becomes a magical place to share a special moment. And if you would like some calm and seclusion you’ll find it in the reading room.  

Guests can also combine the history and culture to be found in Viseu with the beautiful Montebelo Golf course, less than 15 minutes away from the hotel. Enjoy special conditions at this 27-hole course with excellent facilities, including training and practice opportunities and a full service clubhouse with a great restaurant and bar. Or, if you prefer horse riding, you’ll find the Montebelo Equestrian Centre at the same distance from the hotel, offering a wide range of equestrian pursuits for all levels of rider.
